Steps of metal spinning process

Step 1: Fix the cut round metal raw material through the mold.

Step 2: Drive the round metal plate to rotate at a high speed through the mold on one side, and use a tool with a wheel to press it on the metal surface with a certain pressure until the metal plate completely fits the inner wall of the mold to form.

Step 3: After the product is formed, the core mold is taken out, and the top and bottom of the part will be cut off in order to demold and obtain qualified products.

Scope of application of metal spinning

The metal spinning process is only suitable for spinning forming materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, bronze, iron, stainless steel, and iron.

This is because the mechanical properties of metal materials change with changes in external force. When the metal plate is spinning, the metal plate can be rotated by the pressure of the rotation to obtain products of different shapes. If a non-metallic material is used, its mechanical properties and strength are not enough, and it is difficult to turn its circular plate into the desired shape.

Advantages of metal spinning

The metal spinning process is mostly used to form open-shaped workpieces, that is, the diameter of the forming tail is larger than the diameter of other parts, so that the spinning forming part can be removed from the abrasive tool.

Metal spinning requires a small deformation force to form a large workpiece; the mold structure of this process is very simple, only a core mold is required, and the material requirements are relatively low. Compared with the stamping die, the production time of abrasive tools is greatly shortened.

When the metal wall thickness exceeds a certain thickness, spinning processing will be more advantageous than stamping drawing; in addition, spinning processing technology is very diverse, including flaring, flanging, crimping, necking, turning, spinning Processing in special-shaped parts has better process flexibility.

Spinning is suitable for the production of round thin-walled metal parts. In view of the low manufacturing cost of spinning molds, short processing cycles, and easy adjustment of molds, spinning processing has obvious advantages in small and medium batch production during product development.

There are few spinning procedures, most of which can be formed at one time, and one person can operate multiple machines, which saves the labor cost and site cost of the factory.

The strength and hardness of spinning products are more advantageous than other forming processes. Spinning has better strength and hardness and is lighter in weight. On the other hand, spinning products have a more stable performance in harsh working environments. Under the same other conditions, after continuous working and heating up, the precision and rigidity of spinning parts are better than other molding processes. Even better.

Disadvantages of metal spinning

  1. Metal spinning is only suitable for the manufacture of rotationally symmetrical parts. The most ideal shape is hemispherical thin-shell metal parts; for some irregular shapes, only the spinning process is far from satisfactory.
  2. For parts made by metal spinning, the wall thickness of the product can be up to 8 mm, and according to different materials, the wall thickness is relatively large.
  3. With low productivity and high labor intensity, it is more suitable for trial production and small batch production.
  4. Ordinary spinning machine is only suitable for small batch production, because it needs manual operation to realize it, so the limitation is relatively large and the production efficiency is relatively low.
